RED-EYE IMAGE FORMATS [ASSIGNMENT]
PNG |
JPEG |
GIF |
There was not really much of a difference in quality between the JPEG and the PNG. The JPEG appears to be slightly more clear and sharp. The real difference is with the GIF. The compression undergone by the GIF image is apparent in the blotchy colors and segmented shading. The image also appears more blurry than the JPEG or PNG formats.

Midterm 2
This is a picture of Samus the cat, that has had a caption added. I first added my name using the pencil tool. Then I used the "Select Region" tool to highlight the rectangle at the bottom. Then I used Edit > Fill with BG Color "white." Lastly I used the text tool, selected font and color, and typed in the caption you see above.

Midterm 1
As you can see I have made a few changes from the original image. I used the pencil tool to write my name using a 10pt size tip, colored reddish. Then Proceeded to follow the tutorial for removing red eye from an image. I first zoomed into the eyes at 400% as directed. Then I used the Eye Dropper tool to select the natural brownish color of the eye. This absorbed the color and readied it for the next step. Then I switched to the Paint Brush tool, using a 1pt size, and colored over the read spots and the white glare. It's not 100% natural, but I think with a little more practice I could get it down. The red eye has been removed and an untrained eye would likely not notice.

Class 1, Assignment 5
GIMP firing up...
GIMP first opened across both monitors...
I pulled an image in of me and my dog (drag and drop). Added a couple of effects to test it out.
Hello, My Name is Andrew
You can call me AJ. I'm a student at the Woods College majoring in Corporate Systems. I'm a U.S. Army combat veteran and am currently employed (read "getting my soul crushed daily") by a government contractor in Bedford, MA. Happy to have a job, but I wouldn't be pursuing education if I didn't need it to move forward. That being said, I am really enjoying my time at BC thus far. I'll probably be kicking around for a few more years due to only being able to handle a limited course load.
Hmmm... what else to say. I have an entrepreneurial spirit and successfully started my first business with a partner in 2011. Currently, I'm working with a new partner on a super secret venture that I hope will take flight in 2014 at some point. I love to network so if this sort of thing interests anyone I want to hear from you.
I'm also growing a serious 6 month beard right now. So I'll just leave this right here:
And for anyone else having a tough time lately, this quote struck me this morning.
I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teresa
